A 60 foot wide screen, a new interactive attraction, and one of the most revered movie studios in the world, set the stage for an emotional tribute to the unrivaled legacy of Warner Bros. Studios.
Wheeler Design was part of the Film Production team that had just a few months to develop and create a short film showcasing the best of Warner Bros. properties from classics to epics for their Studio Tour. Wheeler Design provided Art Direction, Design, VFX, Motion, Compositing, Titles, Color, and selective Editorial for the final piece that uses actual footage from the most iconic Warner Bros. films, along with rarely seen behind-the-scenes footage, to convey the towering historic achievements of the studio.
Warner Bros. premiered the film in the Legacy Room, the grand finale of the new Stage 48: Script to Screen interactive attraction, where visitors can watch the emotional work on the giant 60 foot wide screen custom-built for the room. Since premiering, the Warner Bros. Studio Tour has been celebrated as one of the best studio tours in Los Angeles.
Every Fall hundreds of thousands of visitors descend onto Universal Studios to experience the theme park’s transformation into Halloween Horror Nights. Featuring legendary Film and TV Horror properties, HHN is extremely popular with fans who come to experience hyper realistic extreme scares. Wheeler Design has worked with Planet C Studios to create Design and Film Content for a number of the events, and was recently commissioned to create content for a series of Promotional Trailers that feature The Walking Dead, Halloween, The Purge, Insidious, Scream, and many others. The Trailers are broadcast throughout the festivities.
It's a strange truth that sometimes it can be fun to watch things blow up. To that end, Wheeler Design was commissioned to create a captivating titles sequence featuring a gigantic Hollywood Hills sign being blown up and magically pieced back together for Universal Studios Hollywood Special Effects Stages. Wheeler Design also created the Music Editing and Sound Effects that complement the work for an explosive effect.
Providing entertainment for guests waiting in line was the goal for Universal Studios when it approached Wheeler Design to create a custom series of posters for the Studio Tour queue areas. Park visitors can wait long periods for the popular attraction and to bring them closer to Universal films, Wheeler Design created a set of 49 giant posters featuring Universal’s most famous movies that guests can experience up close before boarding the Studio Tour.
To commemorate their 100th anniversary, Universal Studios wanted to create a monument celebrating their most iconic films. Wheeler Design was commissioned to create the monument that turned out to be the largest mural ever installed at Universal Studios Hollywood. The finished piece consists of two 50 foot panels placed end to end to create a giant one hundred foot mural featuring Universal’s most famous films and stars.

The Making of Harry Potter at Warner Bros. Studio Tour London is extremely popular with fans around the world who come to experience their favorite characters behind-the-scenes. Wheeler Design was tasked to create a unique title film for it’s popular Studio Shop. Wheeler Design created the Direction, Design, Motion, VFX, and Music Editing for the titles, which is actually a quote from J.K. Rowling herself that she gave specifically for the Tour. Rowling personally approved the finished piece, which is now playing in Ollivander’s Wand Shop at Warner Bros. Studio Tour London.
To celebrate the Porsche 911 Carrera Turbo, Wheeler Design created the commercial “Thinkfast,” featuring the famous model being pushed to its limits at Bonneville Salt Flats. The dynamic spot was shot to give Turbo fans a unique racing point of view, combining vehicle-mounted cameras with high energy visuals and a driving soundtrack. The result is a music video-like piece, several times cooler than the average car commercial.
The Hartford Courant is the nations oldest running newspaper and recently celebrated it’s 250th Anniversary. Wheeler Design was commissioned by The Contend Agency to commemorate the event, creating a short tribute film using Design and Motion that features historic cover stories such as President Lincoln’s assassination, the end of World War II, the First Moon Walk, the World Trade Center attack, and many others. The finished piece also includes a personal letter of congratulations from President Obama and premiered at the huge 250th Anniversary gala event in Washington D.C.
To help BF Goodrich bring the excitement of racing to their commercials, Wheeler Design partnered with editor Dave Blackburn to create a spot that features BF Goodrich Tires being put to the test by famous stunt and professional racer Samuel Hubinette, the man behind the amazing drift work of the Fast And The Furious movies. Wheeler Design Art Directed and Designed the color visuals and VFX, while also providing co-editorial. The final piece features a driving soundtrack and vehicle-mounted cameras that place viewers in the car with Hubinette on their way to an exciting finish.
How do you give visitors behind-the-scenes access to one of the largest and most valuable Costume & Prop Houses in Hollywood? Universal Studios came up with a solution to transform a building on the lower lot into the Universal Experience Interactive Exhibit that displays valuable costumes and props in a museum-like setting for visitors to explore. Guests can experience everything from the original Back To The Future DeLorean to replica weapons to costumes from the original Phantom Of The Opera. Wheeler Design created the entrance mural, wayfinding graphics and the media for the interactive touch screen displays that guide visitors through the historic craftsmanship on display.
Celebrities aren’t just for tabloid stories, they’re also elements of a new TV series from HIP Productions and Producer, Will Sanford. Wheeler Design provides Editorial and Art Direction for the impending series, building the compelling story with artistic touches and dramatic tension.
The first step in being a popular musician is being relevant. Up-and-coming rock band, Chainflower is considered exceptionally relevant by their fans, fronted by a powerhouse female singer who sings of strength and empowerment. To convey their story and edgy persona, Wheeler Design creates rock posters for the emerging band that use female icons as the central starting point to explore a variety of exciting visuals.
For Joseph Eid’s magical song “One and Only,” Wheeler Design partnered with HIP Productions and Producer Will Sanford, to create a Music Video that takes Eid’s music and his story of conquering loneliness to further heights. Wheeler Design provided Editorial and Art Direction for the beautiful film that follows Joseph as he wanders Hollywood streets yearning to be with one special person.
The band Ultraject delivers powerful rock and roll with style. Wheeler Design was tapped to create a Music Video for their song Calling with style in mind. Calling is an unparalleled hard rock track that let Wheeler Design expand on the band member’s interests of racing, motorcycles and girls, that isn’t just relevant, but hyper-relevant.
